WHAT IS A CROWN?

Crowns are permanent caps shaped like natural teeth, used to strengthen and improve your smile. They are usually ceramic for front teeth and porcelain or gold for molars. We custom-make crowns to perfectly fit your tooth and the surrounding teeth.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET A CROWN?

First, we numb the area with local anaesthetic and shape your tooth to fit the new crown. We also take a mould of your tooth, so the crown can be made to fit your tooth perfectly. Your dentist may need to fit a temporary crown until your permanent crown is created. During your second appointment, we remove the temporary crown and cement the new one in place.

WHAT IS A BRIDGE?

If you have missing teeth, a bridge can be used to fill the gaps with natural-looking replacement teeth. Bridges usually include two ends that fit over implants or existing teeth, bridging the gaps left by missing teeth in between them.

HOW YOU SHOULD CARE FOR YOUR BRIDGE

Bridges are permanent, so they can’t be removed for cleaning. To keep your teeth healthy, you should clean the gap under the bridge with special dental floss. We will provide advice and instruction for the type of cleaning products to use and methods for cleaning under your bridge.
